IMO Free Surgical Center

For over fifteen years we have served patients out of a rented four-bedroom home in Jos. It is time to build what we have outgrown — a permanent free surgical hospital for those who cannot afford care anywhere else.

Where We Are Now

Four bedrooms. One quiet hospital. Patients who came anyway.

Since 2009, IMO Missions has operated out of a rented four-bedroom home in Jos. It is not a hospital in the way most Americans picture a hospital — it is a house, repurposed by faith and necessity, where surgical patients are received, prepared, cared for, and sent home. For fifteen years, that small footprint has been enough to save lives the world outside often overlooks.

Why Jos

A crossroads city. A country’s deepest need.

Central Access

Jos sits at the geographic heart of Nigeria — a crossroads between the coastal south and the northern interior. Patients travel here from states in every direction because the roads lead to Jos.

Deep Need

For the patients we serve, an operation that would cost thousands elsewhere is simply impossible. The choice is not between our hospital and another hospital — it is between surgery and no surgery at all.

Year-Round Care

Most overseas medical missions arrive, work hard, and leave. Our permanent presence in Jos means care continues all year — follow-up visits, long recoveries, the patients who need more than one week of attention.

$200 Covers one free surgery

Your gift covers supplies, anesthesia, and the surgical team’s time for a single patient. Ten gifts cover a full surgical day.

The Dream

We have outgrown four bedrooms.

What began in a rented home has become the kind of work that deserves a real hospital. We are building a permanent free surgical center in Jos — modern operating theaters, recovery wards, space for outreach clinics, and room for the volunteer teams that arrive each year to serve. The renderings below show the building we are raising. The need, and the work, are already here.
